To find a Greatsword and unlock the warrior vocation in Dragon’s Dogma 2, you’ll have to find it in chests around the map, or purchase one from a weapons vendor. The first place you can find a Greatsword is Trevo Mine, west of Vernworth. After arriving in Vernworth, you’ll venture along the northwestern main road to deal with a group of goblins. Follow the main road and head west at the first fork to make your way to Trevo Mine.

Once you arrive at Trevo Mine, enter the cave and travel down its linear path. You’ll encounter multiple goblin hordes throughout this mine, so be prepared for combat. Head left and continue into the large cavern at the first fork before going northeast.

Shortly after venturing north, you’ll find a room with goblins and a decorative chest containing the Two-Hander Greatsword. Make sure not to sell this item, as you’ll need to keep it to finish the Vocation Frustration quest, and finding another later will take a lot of time and money.

To find an Archistaff and unlock the Sorcerer vocation in Dragon’s Dogma 2, you’ll have to search the world for chests or buy one. Trevo Mine also houses an Archistaff shortly after finding your Greatsword. Starting from the Greatsword location, continue directly north until you spot a large cavern with more goblins and a wooden bridge. Descend to the bottom layer of the room to find a secret alcove under the wooden bridge, with a chest at the end containing the Grievous Horns Archistaff.

Once you have both weapons, return to Vernworth and present them to the Vocation Guildmaster to unlock your Warrior and Sorcerer vocations and complete the Vocation Frustration quest.

What happens if you sell the Archistaff or Greatsword in Dragon’s Dogma 2?

If you previously visited Trevo Mine and sold one of these items, you’ll have to find another Archistaff or Greatsword. Fortunately, although it’ll take some time, you can purchase these weapons at vendors in regions such as Checkpoint Rest Town. However, it is expensive, and I recommend using the two free weapons above. Nonetheless, this is an alternative option if you need it.
