In Nightingale, players explore a plethora of Realms with each allowing you to craft and build however you want. These realms can be explored solo or together with a party size of up to six total. With the possibility of playing alone, you may be wondering: Does Nightingale have an Offline Mode? Here’s what we know so far.
Can you play offline in Nightingale?
At least in Early Access, it appears Nightingale will not have an Offline Mode. According to the Nightingale developers, an Offline Mode is something that they will consider once the survival-crafting game is past the Early Access launch. Nightingale enters Early Access on February 20 and is planning to remain in an Early Access state for about a year as the developers utilize community feedback to shape the game over that year.
Even though you may be disappointed to know there is no Offline Mode for Nightingale, it does make sense. Because of some of the core functionality of Nightingale which revolves around multi-realm exploration including visiting other players’ realms, I can understand why Offline Mode would be trickier to implement.
In my experience with Nightingale, each time you open a portal to a new realm using Realm Cards, the online functionality comes into play. Because each realm is procedurally generated based on your Realm Cards, we may see that possibility in an Offline Mode later.
Can you host your own server?
Nightingale operates entirely on dedicated servers. This means that, unlike most survival-crafting games like Palworld and ARK, you do not need to purchase or host your own server. Instead, the game operates autonomously on Inflexion Games’ servers similar to how an MMORPG works. However, there is no additional cost or fee required to play Nightingale online outside of your initial purchase.
