Not every game needs a New Game+ (also known as NG+) mode, but with From Software titles, people have come to expect one. While Armored Core 6 isn’t a Souls title, a lot of folks were wondering if the new series entry would bring back some of their overarching design tendencies; and well, NG+ did make the cut. Here’s a quick rundown of how it works.
Here’s how New Game+ mode works in Armored Core 6
After Armored Core 6 is done and dusted, you’ll have the chance to start what From Software calls a “New Game+ Cycle.” This is a completely new run of the game.
Now there are a few provisos here for Armored Core 6 in particular:
- The difficulty doesn’t change when going through a NG+ cycle
- Arena/ranks will carry over (and subsequently, there won’t be any more ranks to work through)
- You can go through to another cycle (like NG++)
- “Alt missions” will be available
Wait, alt missions?! Yes, the primary purpose of NG+ is to tackle alternate paths. In select missions (including Attack the Dam Complex), you can make minor decisions that slightly alter some dialogue and story scenes. Going back through a NG+ cycle will allow you to relive those moments in a new light.
