Devolver Direct 2024: When and where to watch

Celebrate Volvy's 15th borthday party with friends.

Publisher Devolver Digital is well-known for its incredible Devolver Direct showcases that feature some of the most unhinged game reveals and announcements I’ve ever seen. This year will likely be no different, and it’s a showcase not to miss.

Devolver Direct 2023 saw the publisher introduce the world to Volvy, a character Devolver Digital has created who has a complete backstory as a mascot and video game protagonist. This year, it’s apparently Volvy’s 15th birthday, so he’ll again be a huge part of the showcase during Summer Game Fest. To ensure you don’t miss a second, I’ve outlined when and where you can watch it across every possible platform.

When and where to watch Devolver Direct 2024

Devolver Direct 2024 takes place during Summer Game Fest on June 7, 2024, at 5 PM PT/1 AM BST. For those of us in the UK, it’s going to require an all-nighter, lots of coffee, and a slow Sunday, but the rest of the world can watch it at a reasonable time.

You can watch Devolver Direct 2024 on the Devolver Digital YouTube and Twitch channels. However, considering the showcase is part of Summer Game Fest, I’d also say that you’ll be able to catch it on the official Summer Game Fest YouTube and Twitch channels when it goes live. If you want a direct link sent to your emails, sign up by RSVPing on the official Devolver Direct website. At the time of writing, Devolver Digital hasn’t confirmed if the showcase will also be streamed to this website.

One last platform where you might be able to catch Devolver Direct 2024 is Twitter. Indie Live Expo 2024 will be streamed live to Twitter, so there’s a chance Devolver Digital will include the platform in its roster to get as much coverage as possible.

As for what you can expect to see at Devolver Direct 2024, your guess is as good as mine. The publisher has helped bring some phenomenal games like The Talos Principle 2 and Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number. The trailer above was released to celebrate some of the best games from the publisher over the last 15 years and should at least give you an idea of the type of games you can expect to see in early June.

One game I would certainly love to see more of is Baby Steps. It’s a hugely challenging walking simulator in the same vein as Getting Over It, in which you must control every limb and the balance of the protagonist as he climbs his way across a series of awkward terrains with no gear and no idea.
