Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Season 4 is almost here, ushering in the beginning of the end of the ongoing anime adaptation. This upcoming highly-anticipated season covers the Hashira Training Arc from the manga. Here’s what you need to know about the release date and where to watch Demon Slayer Season 4.
Demon Slayer Season 4 release date, revealed
Fans will finally be able to see the return of this popular action anime as part of the Spring 2024 anime season. The Demon Slayer Season 4 release date is currently set for May 12, 2024. We don’t currently know how many episodes the season will include, however, the last two seasons had 11 episodes each.
It is possible Season 4 could follow the same pattern but we will have to wait and see for now. That said, some fans already saw the hour-long premiere of Season 4 during a special, limited-time cinema event.
Hashira Training Arc, explained
The Hashira Training Arc is the 10th story arc in the Demon Slayer manga and the last one before the Final Battle Arc, where the story closes. As such, this is a pretty important arc, even if it doesn’t have a lot of content to it. The arc is one of the shortest in the series with only nine chapters. This is pretty short compared to the previous season’s Swordsmith Village Arc, which covered about 30 chapters.
It will be interesting to see how long this season will be since the content of this arc only amounts to around three to five episodes in total. If this is a full-length season, there is a chance it could start diving into the final arc of the series or adapt anime-exclusive content.
The Hashira Training Arc mainly deals with Tanjiro and the other main characters training alongside the Hashira, or strongest slayers in the organization. It doesn’t have a lot of action due to its focus on improving battle skills and developing Tanjiro’s relationship with characters like the Stone Hashira, Gyomei Himejima.
How to stream Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba season 4
Once again, Demon Slayer Season 4 will be available to watch on Crunchyroll. This is the only official English platform hosting the new season of the anime in North America. Fans will be able to stream the new season’s first episode just a few hours after the release in Japan on May 12, 2024. If the simulcast follows the past seasons, every episode should release soon after it drops in Japan.
The initial release will only be for the English subtitles alongside the Japanese voiceovers. English dub fans will likely have to wait a bit longer to check out season 4. In the meantime while you wait, be sure to catch up on the past three seasons of the anime, plus the Mugen Train film, on Crunchyroll.
