Oh, what would the world be like without the overly-dramatic movie announcer voice? A much sadder place, I think. And here we have it helping to outline the plot of Dead Space Aftermath, the new direct-to-video animated feature based on the popular videogame franchise available on DVD and Blu-ray January 25th, 2011.
I love Dead Space and as much as I want more of it, all of this side stuff is really wearing me out. Part of what appeals to me about the game is its setting but its effectiveness (particularly considering its horror genre) is actually diminished in some ways by offering so much information about it. So, while I would normally encourage publishers to seek ways in which to expand the brand and thereby its universe, I find it spectacularly ineffective where this franchise is concerned.
