Dead by Daylight is getting an Alien collaboration

Dead by Daylight is one of those games that wears its horror influences on its sleeve. We’ve already seen Behaviour Interactive’s asymmetrical survival game crossover with franchises like Resident Evil and Silent Hill. We’ve also recently been treated to Nicolas Cage, so anything’s possible with this game. Now, it’s the Alien franchise’s turn to get the Dead by Daylight collaboration treatment.

A recent teaser over on the official YouTube channel shows that the Xenomorph will be coming to Dead by Daylight. No date on when this will actually be happening has been announced, but the short clip says we can “learn more on August 8.”

Suffice it to say, if you’re a fan of Dead by Daylight and of the Alien films (or at least two of them), then this update is going to be right up your dark and dingy corridor.

In space, no one can hear you crank a generator

Since releasing in 2016, Dead by Daylight has become a force to be reckoned with in the horror community. If you haven’t had a chance to play it, essentially the game involves four players trying to survive against one player who takes on the role of the killer on a murderous rampage.

Some notable villains and survivors from the world of horror have been implemented over the years, including Ghost Face from the Scream franchise, Evil Dead‘s Ash, and even the creepy girl from The Ring.

The game became so popular that a Dead by Daylight movie adaptation is currently in the pipeline from famed production company Blumhouse. We all know that video games being translated to the big screen isn’t always the best move.

However, it could be interesting to see how a co-operative multiplayer game featuring a ton of classic horror monsters will work on film. And, of course, there’s the aforementioned Alien crossover to look forward to as well.
