Indie horror hit Yume Nikki landed on Steam yesterday, fourteen years after its initial release. The cult classic’s lauded for its dreamy, surreal environment and non-traditional approach to gameplay.

It’s easy to talk about how bizarre and intriguing Yume Nikki is, but it’s even easier just to tell you to play it right now. The RPG Maker game is available for free, continuing its legacy as a freeware masterpiece.

Yume Nikki‘s Steam release also appears to point to another project from developer Kikiyama. Alongside the game’s launch on the digital storefront, publisher Playism posted a cryptic message and countdown timer, both pointing to a new Yume Nikki project.
