It’s been one year since Funcom officially released their barbaric open-world adventure Conan Exiles. To celebrate its first anniversary, new content is being added to the game’s blood-soaked desert dunes. The free update includes two new dungeons – the underwater Sunken City and The Scorpion’s Den – ready and waiting to be conquered by parties of brave adventurers (clothing optional).

The Riddle of Steel update will also overhaul pre-existing locations. Revisiting them will uncover new NPCs, crafting options, loot and boss fights. Also being added to Exiles is the new “Witch Doctor” feat which, once mastered, will allow players to summon wights and command the dead as their own personal bodyguards.

If all that wasn’t enough, then Exiles will also be paying tribute to actor-turned-politician Arnold Schwarzenegger, via a selection of statues, helmets and war-paints that movie fans will recognise from Arnie’s turn in 1982’s Conan the Barbarian, which saw the musclebound warrior tackle James Earl Jones’ warlord Thulsa Doom.

If you fancy jumping in and checking out all the head-cleaving action for yourself, then you can enjoy the adventure on PC gratis until May 13. Conan Exiles is available now on PS4, PC and Xbox One.
