Complete Find Arabella’s Parents in BG3 Act 2 (Baldur’s Gate 3 guide)

Here's how it's done, Bone Man.

So you’ve Saved Arabella, but Baldur’s Gate 3 asks that you once again help the Tiefling and her family out in Act 2. For those looking to see her journey through to the end, you’ll need to complete the Find Arabella’s Parents quest in the Shadow-Cursed Lands.

As a heads up, there’s a few spoilers ahead involving Arabella’s parents. If you only want to know their location, check the House of Healing. If you’re fine with getting into detail, keep scrolling.

Save the Tieflings (and Arabella)

If you’re here looking for the Save Arabella subquest in Act One, go ahead and bookmark this for later — you need to complete that before moving on to Act Two. Arabella’s appearance in the Shadow Cursed Lands means she had to survive Act One, too. So, make sure to save the refugees by siding with them in the Emerald Grove.

Ultimately, Find Arabella’s Parents is part of her larger quest chain, leading you into one more possible encounter in Act 3.

Finding the Tiefling means you’ll need some protection from the Shadow-Cursed Lands nasty, ticking debuff, and no, you cannot brute force your way through — I tried and killed everyone. Refer to our Dolly the Pixie guide for help there.

You’ll find Arabella just west of the Masons Guild, in front of some iron gates. Speak to her, and she’ll explain she’s been separated from her parents in the chaos of fleeing the Emerald Grove. Agree to help find them, and offer to let her stay at your camp.

Where are Arabella’s parents?

If you’re ready for the House of Healing, travel further west. You’ll find Arabella’s parents inside, lying on two cots near Sister Lidwin. The good news is you’ve found them; the bad news is they can only talk to you now through using the spell Speak to the Undead. Talk to the dad, Locke, and learn more about Zevlor’s reaction to the Shadow-Cursed Lands attack, and you’ll have some useful information for the orphaned Tiefling.

Now it’s time to break the bad news to Arabella back at the camp — find her off in a corner terrorizing Withers. Break the news to Arabella, and, of course, she doesn’t take it well. You’ll need to Long Rest before Arabella is up for talking again.

After one more interaction, Withers encourages Arabella to find her own way forward. She’ll stick around for a bit, with plans to strike out on her own for Act 3. For getting this far, you’ll get the Shadow Blade Ring, which gives characters the spell of the same name.

This is the same point where the quest rewards Arabella’s Shadow Entangle — good for one use per Long Rest to trap the undead. When you’ve finished up her quest, your journal should read something like this:

Search for Arabella’s parents.
We met Arabella, a tiefling child from the grove, in the shadow-cursed lands. She was looking for her parents. We offered to search for them, and invited her to our camp.
Tell Arabella about her parents.
We found Arabella’s parents – dead. We should break the news to her at camp.
Check up on Arabella.
Arabella was very upset when we broke the news to her about her parents. We should check up on her once she’s had some time to process the news.
Quest Completed!
Withers encouraged Arabella to learn the ways of the Weave. She left to find her own way int he world.

Arabella’s future in Act 3

Arabella doesn’t stay at camp. Talk to her one more time for encouragement, but eventually, she’ll take off and leave the party a note. The young Tiefling is off to find her own way, but she doesn’t forget the party’s help.

While working on Act 3’s main quest, Gather Your Allies, Arabella is available as one of your assets for the end. After entering the Lower City Sewers, find her just across from one of the map’s waypoint markers.
