Complete Brighter Shores Hopeport map

Hopeport is more than just a tutorial area.

Brighter Shores‘ first region, Hopeport, is full of early and mid-game content for you to check out. While it starts as the game’s tutorial zone, you’ll eventually unlock the rest of the region, allowing you to access several free-to-play professions and skilling options.

Although you’ll only have access to the Training Ground at first, you’ll quickly learn there’s more to Hopeport than just a few NPCs and combat areas. Let’s check out its map, shops, and resources.

Brighter Shores Hopeport map and locations

Unlocking Hopeport’s map requires completing the tutorial main quests and entering each zone. As you approach a new area, you’ll find “???” resources to discover, allowing your character to remember their location forever. You’ll also automatically unlock any shops you enter.

However, there are a few locations you won’t be able to access immediately, such as the regions north of Rocky Road and east of the Town Gate. There is also a Thieves’ Den connected to Monob Row and Wilhope Passage, which requires unlocking a locked door through questing.

Brighter Shores Hopeport shops and profession locations

Since Hopeport is the first main hub area you’ll unlock in Brighter Shores, you can access multiple professions like fishing and various stores. While some are only useful for selling items, others have valuable tools and equipment you can use later. Here are some spots you can visit early.

Quartermaster

The Quartermaster is one of the first shops you’ll visit in Hopeport. You’ll initially pick up a Recruit’s Sword from him during the main storyline, but you can return to him later to sell old equipment. You’ll likely visit him often as you raise your Guard level.

Apothecary

The Apothecary is your one-stop shop for potion-crafting. You’ll also learn more about this location and the Alchemist profession during the main story, including how to make health potions.

The Delectable Dab Restaurant and Kitchen

If you’re an aspiring chef looking to raise your cooking level, look no further than the Delectable Dab Kitchen. Right across from the Apothecary is this small and quaint restaurant where you can unlock the Chef profession and start making some food.

Melv’s Fishing Supplies

Although you won’t directly unlock the fishing profession through Melv’s Fishing Supplies, you can pick up some useful items here that’ll help you along the way. In particular, Melv sells fishing spears, buckets, and crates, which you’ll need to get started in this profession.

The Forager’s Warehouse

Speaking of professions, The Forager’s Warehouse has even more helpful items for skilling. Think of this like a general store where you can buy baskets, potion vials, buckets, and profession tools, making this another go-to location if you want to sidetrack from quests for a bit.

The Cloakroom

It’s time to look good with a fancy cape from The Cloakroom. Once you reach level 20 in at least one profession, you can visit this shop to purchase a cape, giving you some stylish flair as you explore Hopeport and the rest of Brighter Shores’ regions.

Brannof’s Hall

Although Brannof’s Hall doesn’t feature any specific shops, it’s the starting location for The Lost Shipment. Fortunately, it’s close to the Training Ground, so you won’t have to venture far to begin this mission.

Enchantress Shop

If you’re tired of slow XP gains from skilling, the Enchantress can help you. Her enchanting abilities will give you a permanent XP boost to a chosen profession tool, excluding weapons and armor. Any enchantments you get will also be transferred to future equipment, so you won’t have to worry about wasting money on buffing early-game tools and losing them an hour later.

The Waterfront

Multiple Waterfront areas in Brighter Shores tie into fishing. These areas — East, Central, and West — connect to various piers with their own unique fish species, giving you numerous methods of raising your fishing levels.

Below are some fish you’ll encounter:

  • Dab (Lv. 20)
  • Mackibut (Lv. 25)
  • Wraddock (Lv. 31)
  • Herring (Lv. 34)
  • Lobster (Lv. 29)
  • Sturlet (Lv. 45)
  • Bream (Lv. 48)
  • Oyster (Lv. 73)

Hopeport Obelisk

Hopeport Obelisk is a crucial location during the Obelisk quest. Upon completing the quest, you’ll unlock weapon attuning in this region, giving you another way to improve your gear.

Sea Road

Much like the Waterfront, Sea Road is another key spot connecting you to the beach and fields for foraging. If you prefer foraging plants overfishing and cooking, you’ll want to head west toward these locations.

Below are some resources you’ll find in the areas connected to Sea Road:

  • Kelp (Lv. 0 Foraging)
  • Shell (Lv. 6 Foraging)
  • Flounder (Lv. 0 Fishing)
  • Bass (Lv. 28 Fishing)
  • Pond Weed (Lv. 10 Foraging)
  • Potato (Lv. 8 Foraging)
  • Bellplant (Lv. 12 Foraging)

While there’s a lot more to find, you can expect this to be one of the best spots for early-game foraging and fishing.

Town Gates

Last but not least is the Town Gates, an area in Hopeport’s east side that connects you to Hopeforest. Hopeforest is a region separate from Hopeport with its own resources, locations, and map, which you’ll unlock as you advance through the main story.
