Whether you can fulfill that dream in real life or not, the virtual stage is here to help. In the latest deep dive, EA Sports has shared details about how the mode will work in a nutshell and what players can expect. With less than a week left for the game’s early access, this is a perfect time for players to understand how Road to Glory will work and what the mode has to offer.

How will the Road to Glory mode work in College Football 25

The Road to Glory mode is a virtual recreation of an NFL star’s journey from his college days.

Creation

The first step involves selecting the journey out of four choices.

  • Elite: Start as an elite five-star prospect with an OVR of 79. As an elite prospect, you’ll immediately become a starter and have an extra mental ability, along with five skill points, to begin your journey.
  • Blue Chip: Start as a four-star recruit with an OVR of 75. You should get significant playing time at most schools and inherit four skill points, along with one mental ability.
  • Contributor: Start as a three-star prospect and fight hard to get a starting spot. You won’t have any mental ability and only three skill points to work with.
  • Underdog: This starting point will be a challenge as you begin as a two-star recruit with an OVR of 60 and two skill points.

Position and archetype

There are five positions to choose from – quarterback, wide receiver, running back, linebacker, or cornerback. Every position has a unique set of challenges and gameplay styles. Then, pick your archetype, which will decide your starting attributes and skill group caps.

Once done, you can customize the looks of your creation and decide on the starting mental ability(s).

Recruitment

In College Football 25 Road to Glory, you’ll have to participate in an interview with Donna Harper. The interview will be followed by signing day when you’ll be able to investigate all the available offers. You can make a decision based on the available information about each school, but make sure to avoid a destination where you might have to compete with another player in your position.

Practice and studies

Completing mini-games in practice will help you win your coach’s trust and push for a spot in the lineup. You can also simulate these mini-games to generate an automated result. As a student-athlete, you’ll have to manage your time between studies and sports. Weekly agendas will be available, which will all be about balancing your activities and time allocation.

You’ll have to invest your time in five different areas: Academics, Leadership, Health, Training, and Brand.

Scenarios and Dilemmas

You’ll come across some scenarios which will require crucial decisions to be made. Some of them won’t have a good or bad choice, which makes things even trickier. Every decision you make will have some impact on your growth as a college athlete. Similarly, brands will want to sign you up to promote their products. In exchange, you’ll gain gameplay and off-field bonuses.

Gameplay and player development

Growing your Road to Glory character in College Football 25 requires you to play games and perform well in training. The XP points you earn can be used to upgrade attributes with the help of Skill Points to boost different Skill Groups. All Skill Groups can be grown to a maximum level of 10. Again, you’ll have to make hard choices as you won’t be able to grow all groups to their maximum.

Skill Groups will also have caps, and only coaches with certain abilities will be able to help you bypass the limitations.

When it comes to gameplay, make sure to watch for the wear and tear (this will be part of core gameplay in College Football 25). Similarly, you’ll unlock more options when it comes to playcalling as you continue to level up and improve your character.

Transfers will also be available, and your performance will determine the demand for your services. If you made a poor decision at the start of your Road to Glory journey, a transfer could help aid your growth.

In the end, you can choose to retire or migrate your College Football 25 RTG character to Madden NFL 25‘s Superstar mode and continue in the NFL.
