Namco Bandai have released a selection of new screenshots showcasing the visual storytelling style of “Soul Chronicle”, the story mode within their upcoming weapon-based fighter Soulcalibur VI.

The campaign will weave a tale of the ages, replicating events from the Soulcalibur timeline as far back as the original title in the acclaimed series. 3D cutscenes, illustrations, voiceover narration and in-engine fights will all be used to tell an arc story of souls and sorcery, while also revealing the individual backstories behind Soulcalibur VI cast of skilled warriors.

Although little else has been revealed so far, there are a host of other single player features planned for Soulcalibur VI, as well as the returning Create-a-Soul mode. So far it’s look like Namco’s prestigious fighter will be delivering a lot of bang for your buck when it launches, October 19, on PS4, Xbox One and PC.
