Apparently Capcom thinks Sony’ll take another slice out of PS3’s price before the end of 2007. Capcom Chief Financial Officer Kazuhiko Abe, in an interview with Reuters at E3, said:
“The number of PS2 users is still growing and a shift to the PS3 is on the back burner. But, the price has been cut once and it is likely to be cut again towards the end of the year. I expect the (PS3’s) installed base to grow gradually.”
Abe also expects sales of Resident Evil 4 will probably exceed the target of 420,000 units for the current business year until March 2008:
“It is doing better than expected in Japan and the United States, and performing fairly well in Europe,” Abe said. “Sales are bound to exceed 420,000 units.”
Ooh, yeah? I don’t know why they’re so surprised; many fans who bought RE4 already bought that game three times already, so what’s one more? Anyway, could Abe’s pleasant surprise mean future remakes or ports of existing RE games? Who needs new RE games, anyway? Not us!!
