It’s sounding pretty…pretty good

We just got our taste of how large the world of Dead Rising 3 will actually be recently, and now Capcom is spilling the beans on how co-op will work. While player one will take control of newcomer Nick, player two will rock Dick — a naming combo that would give zombie slayers Merle and Daryl and run for their money.

This time around there will not only be special co-op vehicles, but you’ll also be able to save all progress when playing with a friend. The way this works is if you play with someone else on, say, Chapter 3, and you clear it, you can go back to your game and skip Chapter 3 once you reach it in your own solo file.

Personally, I think that’s a pretty damn awesome feature, as too many co-op games these days fragment the experience and remove progression incentives for playing multiplayer in favor of the host. Capcom also gives us a taste of the Psycho “Greed” (there’s one for every deadly sin) and a bunch of new screenshots.

I’ve officially gone from “cautiously optimistic” to “excited” at this point.
