PS4 games on PS5 work

From the get-go, every PS4 game will work on your PS5, except for a handful of games. According to PlayStation, the games that won’t work include:

  • Afro Samurai 2 Revenge of Kuma Volume 1
  • Hitman Go: Definitive Edition
  • Just Deal With It!
  • Robinson: The Journey
  • Shadwen
  • We Sing

Every other game like God of War, Kingdom Hearts 3, and FC 24 will all work on the PS5, however.

Can I use the PlayStation VR headset with the PS5?

If you have the first PlayStation VR headset from the PS4 generation, you can indeed use it on the PS5. However, you’ll need a PlayStation Camera adaptor to make it work. Go to the official website and then fill in your details to get one shipped to you.

Keep in mind that the original PlayStation VR headset isn’t compatible with PSVR 2 games. You’ll need an entirely different headset for that.

Do the PS4 games work better on PS5?

When you boot up a PS4 game into the PS5, it will load slightly faster. For example, it’s 30 seconds faster to start playing Kingdom Hearts 3 on PS5 than the PS4, according to The Gamers Joint.

There are also native PS5 versions that the developers include with your PS4 copy. The free PS5 upgrade of God of War includes 60 frames per second and 2160p resolution options.
