Techland returns to the Wild West
Ubisoft and Techland have announced Call of Juarez: The Gunslinger for PlayStation Network, Xbox Live Arcade, and PC. Before you even think to ask, the answer is “yes” — they’re returning to the Wild West. No more of that modern-day cartel stuff.
The video above is a live-action trailer that doesn’t reveal much. In The Gunslinger, you’ll play as a bounty hunter who is a bad enough dude to go after Billy the Kid, Pat Garrett, Jesse James, and other outlaws. The Concentration Mode mechanic is back again and will allow you to “unleash a flurry of bullets while dodging others.” Uh huh. That certainly sounds like Call of Juarez.
Other than that, Ubisoft also teased the inclusion of a skill system without providing any specifics. The series seems to have gone downhill, and I have to imagine the scope of this title won’t be as ambitious as prior installments, but it can’t be worse than the last one, right? Don’t answer that.
