Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 Rust map guide

I used to hate this map.

I used to scream, “I hate this map” to my friends. However, as the dust has settled, the Modern Warfare 3 Rust map is actually fun to play if you know what you’re doing.

This map is so small!

There really isn’t much room on this Modern Warfare 3 Rust. It’s so hectic that instant spawn kills can be frequent. However, if you keep moving from place to place, you’re more likely to survive this hellhole.

What makes up for the small land area is that it’s very vertical. You can hide under the tower and crawl around, eliminating foes running to A in Domination. You can also peak your head around this area and look at the B point as well.

You want to find the sightlines that are unpredictable and aren’t in the middle of the passageways. Try to find cover as fast as you can.

To get to the higher platforms of the tower, climb up the shorter ladder in the Gas Container area. It’s to the right of the blue metal wall near the A flag. Run up and then turn left, and you’ll see a great vantage point on C. You have some fence in front, blocking your enemy’s viewpoint slightly. It’s also viewing a few spawn points on Rust as well.

If you want to get to a higher point of the tower, climb the ventilation. If you go up the metal ramp near the A capture point, you’re wide open and can get shot down easily. It takes way too long to run up it so go the less dangerous ladder route.

Once you’re at the top, you can get a good vantage point over all three points. Perhaps you could even drop down some deployable cover to make yourself less open. Just make sure you rotate from one place to another to keep your opponents guessing.

Best weapons and parts for the Modern Warfare 3 Rust map

Personally, I love using an assault rifle or an LMG on this Modern Warfare 3 Rust map. Most of it is medium to long-range warfare. Make sure, however, that your aiming speed is high with the right attachments equipped. My preferred optic for this map is the Drexsom Prime-90. This thermal scope lets me see enemies from further away with ease. It does give a lower aim-down sight speed, for sure, but I’ve been able to get double and triple kills with this monster of a scope.

Armor-piercing rounds are also great at dishing out damage fast and can dish out bullet penetration. I have them equipped whenever I head over to the Rust map because you’ll see enemies every few seconds. You want to be the first to take them down.

You may be limited in ammo with each magazine, but I like equipping the 20 Round Mag for this map. The improved sprint-to-fire speed, reload quickness, and aim-down sight speed more than make up for having so few rounds. The action’s fast in Rust, so you’ll want to improve your speed as much as possible. You can always replenish your ammo with the Munitions Box field upgrade too.

Now that you have the lowdown on this map, it’s arguable that Terminal is the easier one of the two to figure out. It’s less hectic and has more solid areas of cover. Good luck on your positive K/D pursuits. You may need it, soldier.
