The highly anticipated release of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 has been shrouded in mystery, with fans eagerly deciphering Activision’s redacted clues. The anticipation is palpable as we delve into everything you need to know about Black Ops 6, including a release window, platforms, trailer, and Zombies mode.
When does Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 come out?
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 launches worldwide on Friday, October 25. The PlayStation Store currently lists the release date as October 17 for the Vault Edition, implying there might be one week of early access, but that has yet to be confirmed by Treyarch. In addition, the stores confirm that there will be an open beta for the upcoming title.
For reference, the Modern Warfare 3 beta took place over two weekends, one month before the official release date. Based on that timeline, the test period will likely be at the end of September.
What platforms will Black Ops 6 be on?
Although we don’t have a release date for Black Ops 6, we do know that it will be available on Xbox Game Pass on Day One. Thus, the game will be compatible with Xbox Series X|S. PC Game Pass may also be available for those who have this device.
Based on some rumors, PlayStation devices will likely be included, specifically the PS5. However, Nintendo playability might not be available, as only a select few Call of Duty entries have made it to this platform.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 trailers
The Black Ops 6 reveal trailer confirms that the Campaign takes place in 1991 and is a spy action thriller.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 received a live-action trailer, showcasing notable figures like Bill Clinton, Margaret Thatcher, and George H.W. Bush. The concept of lies is the primary theme of the trailer, as each character discusses how “your whole life is a lie.”
The trailer suggests that Saddam Hussein may be the main antagonist of Black Ops 6. Of course, this is purely speculation, so we’ll need to confirm it once the announcement arrives.
Prior to this trailer, we did get an Open Your Eyes snippet depicting more historical content from the ’90s era and beyond.
With the two videos together, we can assume that Black Ops 6 will be heavily based on real-life events. The series has been known for this, as seen in the original Black Ops’ Cold War era.
Will Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 have Zombies?
Given that Zombies mode has been in every BO entry, Black Ops 6 will likely include this feature. The mode was first introduced in Call of Duty: World at War, which took off in the rest of the BO series. While Zombies has primarily been reserved for Black Ops titles, it did transition to Modern Warfare with its third installment.
More and more Call of Duty games may have Zombies, but for now, we can hope for another classic BO undead mode.
