Caffeine is an oddly titled space horror game

It’s not about running out of Red Bull on a Monday morning

It feels like we’ve waited a while for some space-based horror games to arrive and now there’s a glut incoming; Routine, Stasis, and Alien: Isolation are incoming later this year with SOMA from Frictional Games coming in 2015. Now we can add Caffeine to this list; whilst it doesn’t seem to be a game about drinking plenty of Red Bull, it does appear to be a horror game set in outer space.

Apparently in the future, caffeine will be mined in distant galaxies after the Earth is stripped of all resources. Caffeine will put you in control of a young boy seemingly alone on an unmanned complex. So far, so standard but Caffeine is currently on Indiegogo with a goal of $80,000 and 43 days still left to run. It’s looking really nice thanks to the Unreal Engine 4 but we’ll have to wait and see if it delivers real chills.
