What are your plans for this month’s San Diego Comic-con? Me? I’m working the event for this fine network of websites, as is Colette, Rey, and Japanator’s Tim. Find me if you want to get a drink in the evenings. If I had some downtime, I’d get my button mash on in a series of Tekken 6 tourneys to be held during the event.
Namco Bandai and Tekken fan site SD Tekken have teamed up to host four days of tournaments during Comic-Con. From July 23-26, Room 17B of the San Diego Convention Center will be packed with early console versions of Tekken 6, giving players a chance to fight it out as well as get an early look at the game.
Attendees can go to that room at 10 a.m. each day to sign up. At the end of each day tournament winners will be invited back to compete for a grand prize. You’ll find a tournament schedule after the jump.
I’m no good at Tekken, but I’ll try to check out the tournament anyway, seeing as how the retail version for PS3 and Xbox 360 doesn’t come out until October 27th. If I get into a match, I’ll be sure to use my trademark rubbing-thumb-in-a-circle-quickly-over-buttons technique.
