Brighter Shores Woodcutter profession guide: How to get a hatchet and hand saw

Let's level up some more skills.

In Brighter Shores, after making your way through Hopeport and venturing into the woodsy region of Hopeforest, you’ll immediately notice a ton of trees around. Fortunately, this means you’ll learn about skills like woodcutting and carpentry, but you’ll need the right tools first.

How to get a hatchet and hand saw in Brighter Shores

Before you start your woodcutting profession journey, you’ll need to stop by Morauce’s Point Implements in Timberwell Green. Timberwell Green is a region directly south of the Road to Hopeport and Forest Clearing.

Below are the exact steps to reaching Timberwell Green:

  1. Starting from the Road to Hopeport, head east to the Forest Clearing.
  2. Run directly south through the Huntsman’s Clearing.
  3. Continue down Timberwell Road until you reach Timberwell Green.

Alternatively, if you have the Hopeforest Central Portal Stone active, you can run south through Ivy Path until you reach Ivy Junction. Here, you can go west through the junction and Huntsman’s Path until you approach the southern part of Huntsman’s Clearing, where you can reach Timberwell Road again.

All saw and hatchet types

When you first reach Morauce and search his shop, you’ll find a Level zero hand saw to purchase, allowing you to get started with woodcutting. As you level up, you’ll unlock more saw and hatchet types, with tree loppers also available starting from level 20.

However, even your first hand saw is a little pricey, starting at 36 silver coins. While this is nothing for a late-game player, it can leave a pretty deep hole in your pockets. That said, let’s take a look at every item available at Morauce’s Point Implements, including their prices and level requirements.

All tree types and locations in Hopeforest

Hatchets and saws aren’t the only things that differ in Brighter Shores. You’ll also encounter multiple tree types, which influence your woodcutting and carpentry EXP gains. As you advance through higher-level trees, you’ll gain more experience points per one you chop down.

Much like the resources in Hopeport, you’ll unlock more refined versions of each tree as you level up. For example, while level zero gives you access to coarse ash logs, level 336 is the requirement for obtaining perfect variants.

Let’s check out every tree type, their starting levels, and their locations within Hopeforest.
