How to play with friends in Brighter Shores

To add friends in Brighter Shores, you must unlock the Level Up quest in the Main Story. This part of the narrative involves the game’s tutorial stages, requiring you to find Delana’s Bow, defeat goblins, and craft some potions. Once you’ve completed these steps in Hopeport, you’ll gain access to the Privacy Settings. Changing these specs is crucial, as it can lock you out of specific co-op features.

Open the Settings in the top-left corner of the screen (Gear symbol). Select ‘Change’ via the Privacy Settings. Then, press ‘Anybody’ on the ‘4. Who can you send friend invitations to?’ section. You can also select the box for the third section if you want your friends to send an invitation to you instead.

For more access, ensure to click on ‘Anybody’ or ‘Friend’ for the other prompts, including accessibility with direct messages and whether or not people can see when you’re online. These specs are mainly just additional features and are not necessarily required for Brighter Shores’ adding friends process.

With the correct features activated, adding friends in Brighter Shores is a breeze. Simply click on Community, the people icon in the bottom-right corner, and press the Friends section to access the Invite Friend interaction. Enter their full name in the box, and don’t forget to include any # suffix to ensure it works properly.

Those who have buddied up with a fellow player in-game can also add them as friends through the Community section. Look at Nearby Players to see a list of everyone around you. Then, select the name of the person you want to add and press ‘Send Friend Invite.’

When this option is unavailable, the other party has likely turned off specific specs in their Privacy Settings. That means you won’t be able to perform an interaction such as this.

In Brighter Shores, you can have up to 200 friends and a limit of 50 messages in your inbox. If you need to add anything more than that, you’ll likely need to delete some to make room.
