Also, Glee

Bravely Default‘s producer Tomoya Asano recently took to Facebook to answer some questions for fans, and some of them have been a tad more enlightening than others. When asked specifically about what inspired him in regards to story, Asano stated, “Basically this is comedic up to the point where you start really liking the characters, and then the drama develops. I used the methodology of American TV dramas like the older Beverly Hills 90210 (I’m a huge fan!), and Glee as references.”

Well I can certainly see that now that I think about it, and it’s also easy to see where Bravely Default gets some of its soul from with such a passionate producer. Asano also goes on to clarify, “if you think about it, I guess you could call Bravely Default a traditional Japanese RPG with American content thrown in. I look forward to hearing what all of you in the Americas think of it!”

We all think it’s great, Asano.
