Both versions of Pokemon Sword & Shield are now part of Nintendo’s voucher program

$100 for both (digitally)

Roughly a month ago Nintendo unveiled a new way to save some cash on the Switch eShop: vouchers. It was a weird very Nintendo blink and you’ll miss it thing. But given Nintendo’s penchant for not dropping the price of first-party games, it could come in handy: like when you fancy buying one of each version of the upcoming Switch iteration of Pokemon.

Basically, the program allows you to buy two digital games directly from Nintendo (including pre-orders) for $100 (which nets you 500 Gold Points, or $5 instantly). You pay up, you get the vouchers (which are valid for 365 days), and you can buy new or existing games so long as they’re on this list (it’s mostly first-party but there’s a few exceptions there).

This isn’t super exciting on its own, but I know a lot of folks who buy both versions of Pokemon every generation, so this deal essentially saves you $20. Just keep in mind that again, this is digital, and the patented special Nintendo Pokemon hardware bundle will probably appear in the wild at some point.
