Pre-production begins on four campaign DLCs
We know that Borderlands 2 won’t get its fifth class, the Mechromancer, at launch on September 18. Gearbox Software has put a more specific deadline on when the downloadable character is expected to be ready for public consumption, and it’s not too far off. CEO and president Randy Pitchford says it ought to be out “by October 16,” according to Polygon.
“There may be a little fudge factor there,” he warned, but that date is still nice to hear. I’m sure the core game will keep many of us plenty busy leading up to then. The Mechromancer is free for those who pre-order Borderlands 2, while everyone else will have to pony up $9.99 when the time comes.
As we heard with the Season Pass news, the game is also going to have at least four downloadable content packs. “These are all big original, themed, fully built out campaign DLCs,” explained Pitchford. “This isn’t just ‘here have a couple of guns.'” These are said to each be on par with the scope of The Secret Armory of General Knoxx add-on for Borderlands.
