Best armor sets in Black Myth: Wukong

The Insect set, Bronze set, and Ochre set are the best to use in the entire game. We’ll break down why they are good and you should use them if you’re either struggling with difficulty or want something that feels kind of overpowered for general use.

Insect Set

The Insect armor set is a top pick because of its medicine buffs.

With two pieces of the set equipped, you earn more Focus. This is good for combos and using heavy attacks more often with either heavy stance. Focus attacks from either stance are crucial in stunning larger enemies and bosses so you can get free hits in.

Next, the four-piece bonus will increase the duration of your medicinal effects, meaning that over-time effects from your soaks will last longer. This includes things like the Laurel Buds, Fruit of Dao, and more. By extending the duration of these effects, especially damage reduction ones, you will drastically increase your survivability.

The only downside about the Insect set is that you won’t get the final piece of it until you defeat the boss at the end of the secret Purple Cloud Mountain area in Chapter 4. Once you do, this will become a good generalist armor to use for mobbing and bossing.

Bronze Set

The Bronze armor is the perfect set when you’re fighting a tough boss. It’s no surprise that Immobilize is the best spell in the game. Even if you aren’t making a build around the spell, the extra damage you deal to affected enemies is noticeable.

You can essentially freeze most bosses, get a bunch of free hits in, and hopefully trigger the four-piece set bonus. In successfully “crashing” an Immobilized enemy, your spell will quickly cool down, making it a solid choice to only deal damage when you have it ready.

The extra effect from the gloves gives you more DPS if you can time your spell right as an enemy attacks you.

Ochre Set

If you like A Pluck of Many and just want to overwhelm a boss fight with your clones, this set is a must-have. The Ochre set only requires three pieces to get the full effect, meaning you can use any headpiece you want. Ideally, you’d want a headpiece that has a unique effect.

With all three pieces in the Ochre set, your Decoy from Cloud Step and your clones from A Pluck of Many will be harder to kill. Basically, if you want to nuke a boss’ health and just wail on them, this is what you need.

You still can’t play too recklessly, but the amount of health your clones can take off while you perform focus attacks to stun bosses almost feels like cheese. Not to mention, if you have a Jade Lotus Gourd while using this set, you can further extend the lives of your duplicates.
