Don’t let her size fool you, as her ability to apply overwhelming amounts of Physical Anomaly while dealing heavy damage makes Piper one of the best Anomaly DPSs/sub-DPSs in Zenless Zone Zero.
But just like a good truck needs to have all of its parts in tip-top condition, Piper will need a well-oiled build to perform at her best. Here’s the best Piper build in Zenless Zone Zero, as well as the best teams and Bangboos for her.

The best W-Engines for Piper in Zenless Zone Zero
No matter if you plan on using her as an Anomaly sub-DPS (which I consider to be her best role) or as a main DPS, the best W-Engine for Piper in Zenless Zone Zero is Roaring Ride.
Customized by the genius driver herself, the A-Ranker will allow Piper to randomly get either an 8% ATK increase, a 40 Anomaly Proficiency boost, or a 25% Anomaly Buildup Rate buff after performing a hit with her EX Special Attack. Each buff will last for five seconds and be refreshed if triggered again within its uptime. But the best is yet to come, as her EX Special’s multi-hit focus and the way the three buffs can coexist will allow Piper to quickly trigger and simultaneously maintain all of them while in the field.
If you don’t have our main pick, Fusion Compiler will be my main choice. Boasting a 684 base ATK value and 24% PEN Ratio at level 60, Grace’s signature S-Ranker earns the spot by providing Piper with a 12% ATK boost and the ability to increase her Anomaly Proficiency by 25 after performing her Special or EX Special Attack (to a maximum of three separately accounted stacks). Each stack will last for eight seconds. The values above are related to the item at one star.
For those unsure about the W-Engine, keep in mind that PEN Ratio can directly affect the damage of Assault and Disorder, while the properties of Piper’s Special Attack will allow you to quickly max its Anomaly Proficiency buff.
Best F2P W-Engine for Piper
Thanks to its 75 Anomaly Proficiency boost at level 60, the Blanka-inspired Rainforest Gourmet is the best F2P W-Engine for Piper in Zenless Zone Zero. The A-Ranker will also fit her playstyle well, as its ability to offer a 2.5% ATK boost per 10 energy used (to a maximum of 10 separately accounted stacks) will allow you to get a handy buff every time she performs Engine Spin. The values above are related to the item at one star.
Best Drive Discs for Piper in Zenless Zone Zero
As Piper’s biggest strength lies in her ability to trigger Assault (and Disorder) in a heartbeat, the best Drive Disc composition for her is a 4-piece Freedom Blues paired with a 2-piece Swing Jazz. This pairing will allow you to get a handy 20% Energy Regen boost while also providing Piper with both 40 extra Anomaly Proficiency and the ability to reduce the Anomaly Buildup Resistance of targets by 20% after performing her EX Special Attack.
Given the former’s 35% Physical DMG boost against targets affected by Assault, pairing a 4-piece Fanged Metal with a 2-piece Freedom Blues can also work if you plan on using Piper as an on-field main DPS.
Recommended stats and best substats
To maximize her Assault and Disorder damage, we will be going with Anomaly Proficiency and Anomaly Mastery for our fourth and sixth discs respectively. For the fifth disc, go with Physical DMG Bonus. Regarding substats, go for Anomaly Proficiency. Since I’m a sucker for Crit hits, I also recommend trying to get as much Crit Rate and DMG as possible while respecting the 1:2 rule.
If using her as a standard main DPS, replace your fourth disc with a Crit Rate one and shift your focus into reaching 50% Crit Rate/100% Crit DMG for optimal damage.
The best Piper Wheel teams in Zenless Zone Zero
The best Piper team in Zenless Zone Zero is composed of her, a standard Physical DPS —like Corin, Nekomata, or Billy— and a Stun support. When in this team, Piper will perform her premier role as an Anomaly sub-DPS also capable of offering an 18% DMG buff to the party through her Additional Ability and a handy Physical debuff via Freedom Blues. Thanks to her ability to apply Assault at record times, she will also allow your DPS to always trigger the 4-piece effect of Fanged Metal.
If you don’t mind the loss in Stun, replacing your Stun unit with Lucy can also work well, as she will offer a massive team-wide ATK boost while also being able to deal a good amount of off-the-field Physical DMG. When using Piper as your main damage dealer, I recommend going with Koleda and Lucy.
What Bangboo should you choose?
As all Piper teams will have in Assault their foundation, my main Bangboo pick will be Bangvolver. Although no A-Rank Bangboo is capable of excelling in applying Physical Anomaly, its ability to deal a good amount of Physical DMG with no outside stipulations makes Bagboo a solid second choice. Butler is also a solid pick for its ability to offer a good amount of extra energy to the party.
