A recent update changed a lot of weapons in Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone. Although most changes were minimal, some of those nerfs or buffs can drastically impact the way a weapon performs in battle. Especially in Warzone game modes, where every second, point of damage, and bit of recoil can change whether or not you win a game. One newly buffed weapon is the MTZ 762 battle rifle.
Did the MTZ 762 get buffed?
According to the patch notes for May 9, the MTZ 762 did receive a buff. Although the buffs aren’t overly significant, they make the battle rifle much more viable due to increases to aim down sight (ADS) speed. The gun isn’t a meta long range weapon, but the damage is good and it’ll compete with some of the best in mid-to-long range situations most of the time.
The buffs are:
- Decreased aim down sight time from 280ms to 260ms (-7%)
- JAK Thunder LMG Kit – Decreased aim down sight time benefit by 20ms
In other words, adding the JAK Thunder to the MTZ 762 will buff its ADS time even more. However, it turns the gun into an LMG and it changes it up a lot. Using the regular MTZ 762 will provide better accuracy and long range damage.
What is the best MTZ 762 Warzone loadout?
Using the MTZ 762 in Warzone is a much better idea at long range than anywhere closer. To be more specific, I’d recommend avoiding it in Resurgence game modes, as so many combat encounters are close range. On Urzikstan, however, it can be useful for taking out enemies from a distance quickly, especially if you aren’t the sniper rifle-using type.
Here are the best attachments to use:
- Casus Brake L Muzzle
- MTZ-Precision Blackthorn Barrel
- EXF Close Quarters Assault Stock
- 30 Round Magazine
- JAK Glassless Optic or optic of your choosing
With these attachments, the MTZ 762 has reasonable recoil control, a quick time-to-kill, and a decent ADS time thanks to the new buffs. Although the gun was nerfed a few times in the past, it’s still a decent battle rifle option, whether you’re using the class for challenges or just for fun.
