Best Koleda build in Zenless Zone Zero – Best Drive Discs, W-Engine, Bangboo, and team compositions

Low on stature, high on might!

An agent capable of applying massive amounts of daze while also dealing substantial Fire damage, Koleda is a sure pick for all looking to leave their targets seeing stars and open for devastating Chain Attacks in Zenless Zone Zero.

But although extremely versatile, the president of Belobog Industries will still need a very specific build to truly shake the battlefield. Here’s the best Koleda build in Zenless Zone Zero, as well as a few teams sure to bring forward her potential as one of the game’s best Stun-focused units.

The best W-Engines for Koleda in Zenless Zone Zero

The best W-Engine for Koleda is her signature S-Rank Hellfire Gears. Tweaked by the president herself, the W-Engine boasts a 684 base attack value and offers an 18% increase in Impact at level 60. Hellfire Gears will also provide Koleda with a 0,6/s off-the-field Energy Regen increase and boost her Impact by 10% after she performs her EX Special Attack (Boiling Furnace). The buff can stack twice, and each stack will be counted separately.

If you don’t have her signature engine, the S-Rank The Restrained will be my main choice. When equipped, the engine will provide the same amount of base attack and Impact as our top pick at level 60. Koleda will also get a 6% boost in basic attack DMG and Daze after hitting an enemy with any attack. The effect will last for eight seconds and can stack five times. Each skill can only trigger one stack per use.

Best A-Rank and F2P W-Engine for Koleda

The best A-Rank W-Engine for Koleda is Steam Oven. The item will provide her with a full package by offering both 594 attack and a 50% Energy Regen increase at level 60. But wait, what about Impact? A 1-star Steam Oven will also allow Koleda to get a 2% Impact boost for each 10 energy she accumulates. The latter can stack eight times. After Koleda spends energy, the effect of the gained stacks will remain for eight seconds. All stacks are independent of one another.

Thanks to the 60 energy cost of Boiling Furnace, this means that Koleda will always get at least a 12% boost in Impact after performing her EX Special Attack. When using the Steam Oven, ascending the engine to 5 stars should be a priority. Doing so will increase its boost to 3.2% per stack to a maximum of 25.6% Impact.

The best Drive Discs for Koleda in ZZZ

As she shines the most as a quick swap unit focused on performing her Furnace Fire enhanced attacks, Defensive Assist/Follow Up, and on triggering Chain Attacks by performing Boiling Furnace, the best Drive Disc composition for Koleda is a 4-piece Shockstar Disco paired with either a 2-piece Swing Jazz, a 2-piece Inferno Metalfor, or a 2-piece Woodpecker Electro.

I recommend going with Swing Jaz if you need ER, while Inferno Metalfor should be your main pick if you are looking to deal extra DMG. Use Woodpecker Electro if you fail to reach around 50% Crit Rate. You can check out an overview of the effects of all mentioned sets below:

Drive Disc Set2-Piece Effect4-Piece Effect
Shockstar DiscoImpact +6%Basic Attacks, Dash Attacks, and Dodge Counters deal 20% more Daze to the main target.
Swing JazzEnergy Regen +20%Increases the DMG of all squad members by 15% for 12 seconds after performing either your Chain Attack or Ultimate.
Inferno MetalforFire DMG +10%Increases your Crit Rate by 28% for 8 seconds after hitting a Burning enemy.
Woodpecker ElectroCrit Rate +8%Provides a 9% ATK buff after its wielder scores a CRIT with a Basic Attack, Dodge Counter, or an EX Special Attack. Each attack can only trigger one stack per six seconds and they will be counted separately. The stacks can coexist for a 27% total ATK boost.

Since Koleda will need to reach the Crit Rate threshold mentioned above and have at least 80% Crit DMG to deal the big numbers we can all expect of her EX Special often, I recommend that you go with a CRIT Rate fourth disc and a Fire DMG Bonus fifth one. For the last Drive Disc, go with Impact or ER, the latter if you are not using Steam Oven. For substats, prioritize CRIT Rate, CRIT DMG, ATK, and ATK% in this order.

The best teams for Koleda

As a Fire Stun unit, the best teams for Koleda will all revolve around Soldier 11. The reason for that lies in their attribute synergy and the latter’s ability to get a 22.5% Fire DMG boost when attacking stunned enemies. For the final spot, I recommend using either Ben, Lucy, or Soukaku. While Ben will provide a shield, a handy 16% increase in Crit Rate, and enable you to perform the enhanced version of both Koleda’s EX Special and Ultimate, Lucy and Soukaku can both provide massive ATK boosts to the whole party.

As Koleda is not dependent on her Additional Ability to excel in her role, using her as a joker in an Ice-focused team featuring Ellen Joe and Soukaku, or in a Physical team featuring Nekomata/Corin and Piper can also work. For Electric teams, I recommend pairing her up with Anton and Grace.

Which Bangboo should you choose?

Given her role as a Stun character, your choice in Bangboo will, most of the time, not be made with Koleda in mind. But don’t worry, we’ve got you covered. Here’s the best Bangboos for all of the teams mentioned above:
