During your time visiting Hyrule in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, it’s likely that you’ll come across some hot areas, such as Gerudo Valley in the southwestern corner of the map. If you aren’t careful while you’re there during the daytime, you can burn up quickly and receive a game over.

Here’s how to avoid that by using the best heat resistance recipes in Tears of the Kingdom.

There are quite a few possible recipes for you to make to avoid the heat in Tears of the Kingdom without needing special armor or anything else. But some of them only last for a matter of moments, while others involve ingredients that you’ll have to look carefully for. If you want instant heat resistance, these are the best recipes in the game that will last you for a considerable amount of time.

Chilly Mushroom Skewer

  • 5 Chillshrooms

Like the other recipes on this list, the maximum amount of materials will result in the longest-lasting heat-resistant food. If you use five of these chilly mushrooms, you’ll get a whopping 12 and a half minutes-worth of resistance to heat.

You can find Chillshrooms in generally any of the colder, snowy areas of Hyrule. That said, your best bet is to head to the large mountains in the Hebra region. Here, you can usually find mushrooms growing on the side of the mountain, usually on the ground near trees and rocks.

Chilly Fruit and Mushroom Mix

  • 4 Chillshrooms
  • 1 Hydromelon

Technically, you can use a mix of these two ingredients in whatever form you want. That said, adding the most possible amount of Chillshrooms can make this one last for around 12 and a half minutes.

For Hydromelons, you can find these in the Gerudo Valley. In addition, you can purchase them from some of the shops in this region.

Chilly Mushroom Rice Balls

  • 4 Chillshrooms
  • 1 Hylian rice

This is another situation where the more Chillshrooms you use, the more heat resistance you get. This can provide you with more than 10 minutes’ worth of resistance if you provide four chilly mushrooms.

You can find Hylian rice at many general shops throughout all of Hyrule. It is also possible to get this by randomly chopping up the grass you find throughout the world.

Chilly Elixir

  • 4 Cold Darner or Winterwing Butterfly
  • 1 monster part (can be any)

You can make this recipe however you like. Pick one of the two core cold materials and then a random monster part, such as a Keese eyeball or Lizalfos tail.

You can find Cold Darner in various cold places, such as Mount Lanaryu. But one of the best spots is to simply buy it from Beedle at the Kara Kara Bazaar in Gerudo Valley.

As for the Winterwing Butterfly, it is also found in colder places like Mount Lanaryu. You can also buy it from Beedle, but only at the Tabantha Bridge Stable. This Chilly Elixir gives you more than 11 minutes of heat resistance.
