Gold is a type of currency that you earn in The First Descendant by just playing, but after a while, you’ll have to farm it. You may be sitting on millions by the time you’re halfway through normal mode, but you’re going to need so much more.
Best way to farm gold in The First Descendant
The best way to farm gold in The First Descendant is by spamming the Abandoned Refinery Unit mission in the Echo Swamp region on Hard mode. You can find this in the Abandoned Zone area in this region, just under the main Outpost.
This mission node is considered to be the ‘loot cave’ of The First Descendant. You can easily farm up loads of Kuiper Shards, weapons, mods, and gold here. XP gains are also decent here, but there are better methods.
In terms of gold gains, almost every enemy will drop a few thousand per kill. Just make sure to pick up all the yellow drops you see in these runs.
You simply have to kill a few mobs of enemies starting from the top of the cliff, then underground. When you complete the mission, you should end up in a cavern just below where you started.
You can quickly run back to the mission start and repeat it. Keep doing this until you burn out or run into overcrowded inventory issues.
When you start running into inventory issues, you can sell all the excess weapons, components, and reactors gained from enemy drops.
Best gold farm build in The First Descendant
The best build for farming gold on this mission in The First Descendant is to use Bunny. Simply cast her first ability, Speed of Light, and pair it with her second, Lightning Emission.
As you’re running quickly during her first ability, the Lightning Emission will create pulses more frequently, damaging and killing enemies quicker too. You do not need to have an optimized build, but you do want to prioritize decent survivability, skill duration, and skill power.
You can easily run around enemies, including the shielded spike enemies that await you underground. The AoE damage that Bunny can dish can easily complete this mission in under two minutes.
