Genshin Impact has two tiers of paid Battle Passes, and purchasing either of them allows you to choose one premium weapon out of ten options. If you’ve spent $10-20 and taken the time to unlock the weapon, then you might be wondering which one you should get. Here are the best Battle Pass weapons in Genshin Impact in order of best to worst.
1. Serpent Spine
Serpent Spine is a Claymore that grants a universal DMG Bonus that stacks up to five times the longer your character is on-field. The only catch is maintaining those stacks — they disappear when your character takes damage. This makes it so that any Serpent Spine wielder should be paired with a shielder if they spend time on-field. Claymore characters in general may not be the most popular, but Serpent Spine is up here because when it works, it’s often the best 4-star option, even surpassing some 5-stars.
Potential Serpent Spine wielders: Itto, Noelle, Navia, Diluc, Eula, Beidou, Freminet, Razor
2. Deathmatch
Deathmatch is a Polearm that provides different buffs to the equipping character based on how many enemies there are around you. If there are two or more enemies, you gain both ATK and DEF. If there is only one enemy, you get a larger ATK buff but no DEF. For most Polearm DPS units, Deathmatch is a fairly good option. Not the best, just good. Actually, both Polearms on this list are fairly good, but Deathmatch gets the higher placement simply because ATK is a more universally desirable stat than Elemental Mastery.
Potential Deathmatch wielders: Xiangling, Xiao, Hu Tao, Cyno, Rosaria, Raiden
3. Ballad of the Fjords
Ballad of the Fjords is a Polearm that grants an Elemental Mastery buff to the equipping character if there are at least three different elements in your team. While this passive is conditional, many characters who want Elemental Mastery are often run in reaction teams with multiple elements anyway. It’s not as hard to maintain this passive as it might initially appear. For characters that almost exclusively rely on reactions (like Cyno or Hu Tao), Ballad of the Fjords will be unequivocally better than Deathmatch, even if Deathmatch is more universal.
Potential Ballad of the Fjords wielders: Cyno, Xiangling, Hu Tao, Rosaria
4. The Black Sword
The Black Sword heals the equipping character when they use Normal or Charged Attacks. It also increases Normal/Charged Attack damage, making it a nice option for on-field Sword DPS characters. It only heals the wielder, but if you’re careful when rotating through the rest of your team, Black Sword can potentially allow you to forgo a healer in your team.
Potential Black Sword wielders: Ayato, Ayaka, Keqing, Alhaitham, Kaeya
5. The Viridescent Hunt
The Viridescent Hunt is a Bow that creates a small vortex when hitting an enemy with a Normal or Charged Attack. The vortex deals minor damage and pulls smaller enemies toward its center. This is a nice utility for someone like Childe, who can make great use of crowd-control in general.
Potential Viridescent Hunt wielders: Tartaglia (Childe), Fischl, Tighnari
6. Wolf-Fang
Wolf-Fang is a Sword that grants a stacking CRIT Rate buff to its wielder’s Skill and Burst damage on top of an unconditional Skill/Burst DMG Bonus. It’s all very nice on paper, but the CRIT Rate buff cannot gain stacks when the wielder is off-field. This makes it difficult to take advantage of for most characters who rely on Skill or Burst damage (e.g., Albedo, Xingqiu). Meanwhile, if the character is on-field gaining stacks, then they are more likely to focus on Normal/Charged Attacks rather than Skill/Burst. Still, there are a couple of characters who can take advantage of this passive.
Potential Wolf-Fang wielders: Alhaitham, Keqing
7. Solar Pearl
Solar Pearl is a Catalyst which effectively increases Skill, Burst, and Normal Attack damage. It’s actually quite good for Catalyst DPS characters, but there just aren’t that many good Catalyst DPS units, and most of them have 4-star alternatives that are quite competitive. Still, if you like playing these characters, then Solar Pearl is the better of the two BP Catalysts.
Potential Solar Pearl wielders: Nahida, Wanderer, Yae Miko, Heizou, Klee, Ningguang, Yanfei, Lisa
8. Scion of the Blazing Sun
Scion of the Blazing Sun is a Bow that deals a bit of Physical damage when an enemy is hit with a Charged Attack. It also marks the enemy, making them take increased Charged Attack damage for a short duration. This passive is only useful for Bow DPS units who use Charged Attacks and benefit from the CRIT Rate secondary stat.
Potential Scion of the Blazing Sun wielders: Ganyu, Tighnari
9. Sacrificial Jade
Sacrificial Jade is a Catalyst that buffs the wielder’s max HP and Elemental Mastery when they are off-field for longer than five seconds. Despite the name, Sacrificial Jade is not part of the Sacrificial series. This is quite a niche passive, and there’s only one character who can make good use of it for now.
Potential Sacrificial Jade wielders: Neuvillette
10. Talking Stick
Talking Stick is a Claymore that increases ATK when its wielder is affected by Pyro and Elemental DMG when affected by other elements. It’s difficult to reliably make use of this passive. Bennett and Dori’s Bursts apply their respective elements to characters standing within their AoE, but it’s difficult to recommend tying specific builds to these specific teammates.
Potential Talking Stick wielders: Gaming, Diluc
How are the rankings calculated?
The rankings here are based on general observations of how many characters can use each weapon and how good those weapons are compared to other options. Therefore, these rankings will not be objectively true for every person or every account. When choosing your weapon, you should ask yourself two things:
- Are you interested in the characters that can use it?
- If so, do you already have a decent alternative weapon for them?
If, for example, you have no intention of ever playing a Claymore DPS, then you can safely ignore Serpent Spine. Or if you like Raiden but already have The Catch, then you can ignore Deathmatch.
