The versatile Paladin Class can be taken in various directions depending on what Oath you take in Baldur’s Gate 3. Because of this, you have plenty of choices when it comes to which Feats will work best. You’ll want to pick Feats that complement your Oath and your Abilities, but if you need a hand, we can narrow your choices down for you.
This guide will help you decide which Feats are the best for your Paladin in Baldur’s Gate 3.
Best Feats for Paladin in Baldur’s Gate 3
You’ll have three Oaths to pick from. The Oath of Vengeance and Oath of Devotion are more suitable for offensive Paladins, while the Oath of Ancients is for supporting Paladins. Break your Oath, and you’ll unlock a hidden fourth Oath called the Oathbreaker which allows you to embrace the dark side.
You’ll get your chance to pick your first Feat when your Paladin reaches level 4. Sentinel is a good Feat to have whether you’re using your Paladin for support or attacks. The Feat gives you the chance to weapon attack foes that attack an ally within your melee strike range. Your Paladin will also need a good defence. Consider grabbing the Shield Master Feat. It gives you a +2 bonus to Dexterity Saving Throws when using a shield.
For players aiming for an offensive Paladin build, the following three Feats used together would give you a pretty formidable attacker with good defence.
Tough
You can’t go wrong with Tough if you’re aiming for a tanky hitter. The Feat increases your hit point maximum by two points for every level gained. Make it your first Feat so that you can start reaping the benefits early on.
Ability Improvement
This Feat is a versatile one, allowing you to increase one Ability by two, or two Abilities by one. Add two points to your Strength to make your Paladin hit harder.
Great Weapon Master
The Great Weapon Master Feat will ensure your Paladin is unstoppable when they’re wielding melee weapons. When you land a critical hit or kill an enemy with a melee weapon, you get another melee weapon attack in that turn.
If you want a Paladin Class character on your team, consider befriending Minthara in Act 1. Alternatively, visit Wither and pay him 100 gold pieces to change one of your existing party members into a Paladin.
