In addition to boosting your character in minor ways, Deepwoken’s attributes also serve as qualifiers for other customization options. They determine what Talents, Weapons, and Gear you can unlock and equip. Our guide will walk you through the best Deepwoken stats to increase while powering up.

Best Stats in Deepwoken to Increase
The best stats or attributes in Deepwoken depend on what Talents, Weapons, and Gear you want to wield since stats serve as prerequisites. That said, generally the best stats to focus on are your:
- WeaponStat (Light, Medium Heavy): Your weapon stat will help you deal more damage with the weapon type you chose. Note that you’ll need a high weapon stats for mid to late-game weapons.
- Heavy: For Great Swords, Halberds, Great Hammers, and Great Axes.
- Medium: For Swords, Spears, Clubs, Rifles, and Twinblades.
- Light: For Daggers, Fists, Guns, and Rapiers.
- Mantra Stat (Attunement): This is the stat that boosts your mantra (spell) abilities like Flamecharm, Galebreathe, Thundercall, Frostdraw, Shadowcast, Ironsing, and Bloodrend. The higher the stat the better AOE damage, utility, and mobility Mantra options you’ll unlock. You get higher-tier Mantra skills at 20, 40, 60, and 80.
From here, the best base stats to increase depend on what you want to build for. Check out our best Talents guide for all stats but here are some quick examples:
- Strength: Combines well with Heavy weapons for block-breaking and armor penetration Talents.
- Agility: All about Talents that Assassinate and one-shot targets as well as boost your mobility and dodges.
- Intelligence: The best stat if you want to focus on Mantras since Ether Overdrive at 90 Intelligence unlocks the cap for Mantra and Weapon armor penetration.
- Charisma: Has a lot of great Talents to charm targets and get bonuses against charmed targets like offensive and defensive buffs but also faster executions and AOE stuns on executes with Tyrant talents.
- Fortitude: This is more of a supporting stat. Besides increasing your HP, Talents here can provide HP regeneration like the Warrior’s Respite talent and overall boost your armor and tankyness.
- Willpower: Another supporting secondary stat that I wouldn’t primarily focus on.
Note that the Adret race gets additional stats per Power level so that you can increase these even more.
Best Deepwoken Stats Early
Here’s a quick build of the best stats and Talents for a strong early to mid-game setup that you can either turn into a full Agility build later or use as a support setup for any another stat build:
- Carnivore (Requires 5 Strength and 5 Willpower): Allows you to gain Hunger and Thirst from executing NPCs, monsters, and players. Excellent sustain during exploration.
- Warrior’s Respite (Requires 15 Fortitude): Standing still for 15 seconds can heal you fully without needing a campfire while exploring.
- Ghost (Requires 40 Agility and the Talents Below): Dodges turn you invisible which is incredibly strong both for PVP and PVE.
- Swift Rebound (Requires 15 Agility): Move faster after dodging an attack which is great for repositioning.
- Evasive Expert (Requires 15 Agility and Swift Rebound): Increases the speed boost from Swift Rebound.
- Risky Moves (Requires 25 Agility): After you dodge an attack you automatically dodge the next one too.
While picking up these talents make sure to also level your weapon and mantra stat when you can. Also, be careful not to take Observant and Safety Dance as these will exclude the talents you need for Ghost. I recommend you use the Burn Ace if you see them on a Power Up to remove them permamently. Lastly, there are two more Talents I highly recommend for Air Dashing and Ether regeneration, which you can grab easily under the talent section in our Lower Erisia guide.
