The bow is one of the most underrated weapons in Minecraft. Its long-range capabilities keep pesky diamond swords at a distance, while also providing useful knockback potential. The best bow enchantments in Minecraft improve upon the strengths of this powerful weapon, so here’s how to get some of those upgrades.
Best Minecraft bow enchantments: Flame
One of the best Minecraft bow enchantments is Flame. The name pretty much gives away its utility, which involves lighting all of your bow’s arrows on fire. Burn damage is fantastic since it continuously whittles away enemy health, plus destroys structures quite fast.
If you want to be a flaming bow master, you can get the Flame upgrade through the Anvil, and using Enchanted Flame Book I. The upgrade book is available from the enchantment table or a chest drop.
Infinity bow enchantment
The one drawback of bows is you need arrows for each use, unlike swords and tridents. This can be frustrating, especially if you have a limited supply. Fortunately, the Infinity enchantment takes care of that. Your bow will no longer consume arrows at all when using this alteration.
The Infinity upgrade requires the Infinity Enchantment Book. You can make this at the enchantment table or by trading with a librarian.
Multishot bow enchantment
Multishot does exactly what its name implies in Minecraft. This enchantment for the bow turns your single arrow shots into three arrows at once. Couple this with the Infinity enchantment and suddenly you are firing off endless three-arrow shots without a care in the world.
Multishot is one of the easier ones to get. Put your bow on the enchantment table and it is a random option. You may need some patience, though, as there are several possible enchantments available here. I recommend leveling up your character more if you don’t initially see it.
Punch bow enchantment
One of the most useful parts about a bow is how it knocks back the targets you hit. Punch is an enchantment that focuses on improving this aspect by increasing the knockback distance. You can even upgrade this enchantment to a max level of two for an even greater distance.
Like the others, you’ll need the Punch Book if you want to get this upgrade. You can find the enchantment book at the enchantment table, which is a bit random. Fortunately, you can also find it through fishing or trading with an expert fletcher if luck isn’t on your side. Players on any difficulty except easy also have a chance of finding Punch as a loot drop from skeletons, though it is a bit of a low chance.
