When will Avengers: Doomsday be released?
Avengers: Doomsday is currently slated to be released on May 1, 2026. This release date could change since it’s still over a year away, but for now, this is the set date. Depending on where you live, you may be able to see it even sooner than this since all MCU films usually have some earlier showings the day before they are released.
What is the plot of Avengers: Doomsday?
The official plot details for Avengers: Doomsday are mostly unknown so far, but the main central storyline will involve the latest wave of Avengers gathering together once again to stop some mighty evil force. Based on the name of the film and the grand reveal of Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom, the plot is expected to be centered around him as the primary antagonist.
The build up for this film is expected to begin in The Fantastic Four: First Steps movie launching on July 25, 2025 since Doctor Doom and the Fantastic Four are tied together in the Marvel Comics. We’ll likely learn more about the plot of Avengers: Doomsday after it once we understand who this version of Doctor Doom is and what he’s after.
This film will be followed by Avengers: Secret Wars on May 7, 2027. These two movies are expected to follow a similar format to Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Engdame, so the overarching story will likely be split in two.
