Avatar’s Katara, Toph, and Zuko are heading to Fortnite

That’s going to be a lot of cabbages.

Avatar Characters in Fortnite

The staying power of Avatar: The Last Airbender cannot be understated. The original show ended in 2008, and yet, here we are in 2024, seeing much of the Airbender cast make their way to Fortnite. Starting tomorrow, April 9, Katara, Toph, and Zuko will be available in the game’s shop.

The current Battle Pass features Korra from the show’s sequel series, The Legend of Korra. As players began unlocking the sequel’s star, keen-eyed players individuals noticed an iceberg appearing in the northeastern corner of the map. Inside was a frozen orb containing Aang and his faithful Sky Bison, Appa. It was a great throwback to the original series, with Korra freeing him from his frozen Fortnite tomb in the animation above.

However, if Katara, Zuko, and Toph are in the shop, how do we get the air-bending Avatar?

According to another tweet by the Fortnite team, that may be event dependent. Another Fortnite event, Avatar: Element, begins on April 12. This will probably be in the form of a mini-pass, like Shredder was in the recent Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles event. Also, where that event featured the classic weapons of the TMNT, I’m betting on elemental-based abilities available for pick-up.

As a huge fan of the series, I’m excited to see all of these Avatar events in Fortnite, and I’ve grown quite find of Korra’s water-bending powers in the battle royale. While I’m eager to get my hands on the rest of the announced cast, I’ve gotta ask: Epic — where’s my boy, Sokka, at?
