Electronic Arts has done what Electronic Arts does best and caused an outrage after trying to make more money than it should. Australian users were furious to see Battlefield Premium listed for $49.99 AU across all platforms, with EA failing to warn them that the price only applied to the PC version.
Apparently nobody was warned, even as they hit the deadly “purchase” button and found that they’d actually spent either $66 AU (Xbox 360) or $79.95 AU (PS3).
The outrage was big enough to make EA reduce the PSN price to $64.95 and refund $14.95 to any PS3 user that already purchased it. Meanwhile, Xbox 360 users shall benefit from no such refund, and are left pissing in the wind as they continue to rage.
Despite this, EA is still advertising Premium as $49.99 across the board, neither amending the promotional material nor apologizing to those that have been suckered in by it. So, it’s basically another day for EA.
