Etrian Odyssey V: The End of the Long Myth is coming to Japan for 3DS on August 4, according to Famitsu. It’s the first main, numbered entry in the series since 2013’s Etrian Odyssey IV. No more mystery dungeons for us anymore, thanks. Well, different kinds, at least.

The sequel is set in Arcadia, a neat four-race land (Arslan, Lunaria, Cerian, Brani). Series character designer Yuji Himukai is returning for that role; you’ll be able to alter the colors of his work in the character designer, as well as give you character some heterochromia. A range of voice actors are offered for the first time, too.

According to a Gematsu translation of director Shigeo Komori, “The concept for the latest game is character customization with a high degree of freedom and dungeon exploration that tickles your adventurous spirit, as well as consistent battles and growth.” Development is 60% done, but the plans are to design it in a way where it’s, “harder to make a well-rounded team; all the classes have very specific roles, like in the first Etrian Odyssey.”
