Respawn Entertainment introduced a whole new map for players to explore with the release of E-District, their take on a cyberpunk playground. E-District is Apex Legends’ first-ever night map, and it arrives with a new game mode where players automatically respawn the moment they’re eliminated.
Currently, only the trios revival mode is available in Apex Legends, with no duos mode in sight (much to the frustration of some players). E-District was also the only map you could get into when Season 22 launched, but Respawn Entertainment accidentally removed E-District from the rotation pool for ranked games.
Respawn has now put out a statement, announcing that E-District has been added back, but with a catch. Apex Legends players will only get to queue up for ranked games in E-District from August 9 onwards, and this map exclusivity will remain in place until August 12.
After August 12, Apex Legends ranked games will once again operate on a rotational basis with ranked games taking place on Broken Moon, Storm Point, and E-District maps.
This extended duration could help players get more accustomed to the new map’s POIs and figure out rotational plays that can help last longer during ranked games. And with new akimbo weapons in the mix, E-District looks to be the right playground to get used to dual-wielding the likes of P2020 and Mozambique.
Apex Legends Season 22, titled Shockwave, launched on August 6, 2024.
