How to use trading codes in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet

So like a lot of things Game Freak related, trading online in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet is a bit convoluted. There’s no real trade “hub” or menu. Instead, you’ll be using codes after connecting to the internet in-game, which fans have decided to link manually to certain exclusives.

To initiate this process, you’ll:

  • Connect to online play
  • Open up the Poke Portal from the main menu (X)
  • Select “Link Trade”
  • Enter one of the below link codes in that matches the exclusive you want
  • Make a 1:1 trade on the table, horizontally
