Spend those gold bars!

Recommended Videos

All the gold bars in the world don’t matter once you’re eliminated, so let yourself spend a few here and there. Namely, when you’re buying services from NPCs around the map. Whether it’s a decent weapon, healing items, or even hiring a sidekick, spending those bars will always help you out.

Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 1 characters explained

Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 1 has paired down the character list pretty significantly to start. There are 12 NPCs you can talk to, 1 stationary boss, 2 roaming bosses, and another boss when the roaming island appears mid-match.

The stationary boss in the red circle on our map is The Night Rose. This is a much bigger boss than the medallion guards we had last year. She’s being controlled by a large demon that strings her up and moves her around. You’ll have to take it out by blasting its glowing eyes because it’s a proper video game boss. Watch out for the shades it summons, and get ready to take Rose down herself when she’s cut free. She drops a Void Oni Mask with 50 charges, a special SMG, and a medallion that gives you a passive reloading ability. She’s well worth the danger.

There are 2 Demon Warrior bosses that will show up randomly across the map, identifiable by their mask icon. They’ll drop a random boon, and potentially a Void Oni Mask or Typhoon Blade. They’re worth tracking down, and they’re not as difficult to knock off as The Night Rose is.

Finally, a Shogun X will appear on the map, and a second one will appear when the floating Oni Island appears during the match. These guys are big and tough to take down, so don’t go in expecting to take them lightly. The roaming one will drop a mythic weapon, and the one on the Island will also drop a mythical Fire Oni Mask and Shogun X Medallion. This medallion is insane, giving you infinite stamina AND invisibility while sprinting.

  • Bushranger: This leafy friend is hanging out in Nightshift Forest. Aside from selling supplies, you can hand him one of the elemental spirit creatures in exchange for a key. Once you do, night will turn to day and you’ll be able to unlock the vault hidden in the nearby castle.
  • Cinder: A heavy specialist ready to wreck. Hire her for a grenade-happy sidekick, or buy some supplies from her. You can find her south of Demon’s Dojo.
  • Helsie: The vampire-fighting squad has returned to the island, and is willing to lend a hand. Purchase some supplies, get healed up, or hire her as a medic specialist who’ll toss healing items at you as you travel. She and Nyanja hang out in Canyon Crossing.
  • Jade and Kendo: This sibling pair hangs out around one of the possible Shogun spawn points together, just north of Nightshift Forest. They’ll both help you fight a demon if it shows up, otherwise they’ve got some supplies to sell. Kendo can give you a Rift to go, and Jade can patch you up. Bring her an elemental spirit and she’ll also grant you a mythical weapon.
  • Daigo: The mysterious third sibling to Jade and Kendo, this mask maker is messing with some malevolent magic. Offer to duel him for a handy reward, or purchase some items off of him. You can locate him in Masked Meadows.
  • Mizuki: Returning from Mega City is the leader of the River Clan. She’ll offer you plenty of supplies, but can also become a specialist if you hire her. She’ll toss ammo and items for you while helping you out in combat. She is hiding out in Lost Lake.
  • Nyanja: This two-tailed fellow is hanging out on the other side of Canyon Crossing. He’ll offer you some fine weaponry to get a head start on your enemies.
  • Shadow Blade Hope and Vengeance Jones: The two lead heroes from the last chapter are back, looking to get a new crew together. Currently, they’re not doing much, but finding them in Hopeful Heights is a great way to stock up early. Hope will also offer you a Rift to Go if you need to get somewhere else fast.
  • Vi: If you need help finding your enemies, look for Vi first. Hiring her will grant you a helpful Scout Specialist who will scan the area around you for other players. She’s hanging out in the colorful fields north of Hopeful Heights. Get to her fast, her skill is highly sought after.

More to come…

Undoubtedly, more NPCs will be added as time goes on, and we’ll update this article accordingly. Winterfest is just a couple of weeks away, so be prepared for some more crazy antics there. So far this chapter is shaping up very nicely, let’s see how the rest of the seasons shake out.
