All Marko’s Memories locations in Spider-Man 2

As a Sandman thinketh.

You took down Marko, aka Sandman, during the early moments of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, but that’s not the end of his story. Marko’s memories became orange crystals that scattered throughout the city, and you need to track down their locations in Spider-Man 2.

Among the side stories in the game, Marko’s Memories is a breezy one that’s easy to do on the side. There are 14 memory crystals dotted around New York City, with one that appears after you collect the initial amount. The crystals are easily identified by the swirling sand clouds.

It’s worth gathering them up for a couple of reasons. Mostly, they reward experience points and five City Tokens each. But there’s also clearly a mystery at play. Why did Marko start attacking the city in the first place?

Marko’s Memories side quest: Locations of all 14 in Spider-Man 2

To begin the Marko’s Memories quest in Spider-Man 2, you need to complete the mission ‘One Thing At A Time’ located at the Financial District. It leads you to a building that Miles finds engulfed in flames after a crystal burst in and ruptured a gas line. Defeat the Marko clones and retrieve the first crystal, which transmits Marko’s past thoughts. These begin to explain what happened to Marko.

Each crystal you gather unravels the mystery piece by piece. Don’t worry about collecting them in any order; the memories play out chronologically. The only thing of concern are the Marko sand clones, but they aren’t so tough. As you recover more crystals, Mary Jane will call to update you on Marko’s condition. Getting the crystals is seemingly helping him regain his faculties over time.

The crystals are also constructing something in the menu. Check its progress by going to the menu and opening up the ‘Collections’ tab and ‘Marko’s Memories’.

City districts can have one or two crystals, while some have zero and one includes four. Here they are in no particular order:

Williamsburg

The crystal is on top of a factory located in Williamsburg alongside the river.

Chinatown

There are two crystals in Chinatown. The first is on top of a building in the central area, slightly north. The second crystal is at the bottom-left portion of Chinatown at the border.

Central Park

Head to the southern section of the park to find the next crystal. It’s sitting near a small pond.

Midtown

Midtown has two crystals. The first is about a stone’s throw away from the Wakanda Embassy if you were just there to visit. It’s in the central area, slightly south and on top of a building.

The second is an alley to the southeast of the first crystal against the border of the district.

You’re halfway through finding all the Marko’s Memories locations in Spider-Man 2. At this point, Mary Jane calls you to report that Marko is steadily improving thanks to your efforts.

Greenwich

There is one crystal to find in Greenwich. It landed in a park surrounded by trees, so watch for sand clouds near street level.

Financial District

There are four crystals in the Financial District, but you only need to worry about three. You already got the first one in the initial starting quest.

The next crystal is in an alley located on the northern end of the district, against the border.

Head down south where you’ll find two more crystals near the water’s edge. The northernmost one is on a building, and the second is next to a fountain in a park.

Little Odessa

The crystal in Little Odessa is in the north part of the district on top of a factory near the river.

Downtown Brooklyn – The final two crystals

The first crystal in Downtown Brooklyn is between two buildings in the central part of the district, northwest of Coney Island. I had to beat some human enemies here who were gathered around the crystal along with the sand clones.

Once you find 13 crystals, you unlock the last one also in Downtown Brooklyn. Be warned: There are no sand clones to fight around the crystal, but that doesn’t mean you’re safe.

Marko’s memory and the ‘Remember’ side story

After touching the crystal, Spider-Man is pulled into Marko’s memory. Use the large stones and giant heads to follow Marko’s consciousness deeper until you reach a massive crystal structure. It’s protecting the final memory crystal, and you need to shatter it using throwable stones nearby. Sand clones will try to stop you, so thin out their numbers before you start hucking rocks.

Once you get the final memory crystal, you return to reality and the statue you’ve been building is complete. That’s right, the object the crystals were constructing is a statue of Marko and his daughter. Marko also calls Spider-Man to thank him for helping to literally get his thoughts in order.

Gathering all the crystals together starts the ‘Remember’ side story. To complete it, head north to Astoria. A bit north and east of the central part of the district is a house. Head there, walk up to the front door and leave the statue.

This completes Marko’s Memories and the Remember side story. The reward for the latter is 2,000 XP and 20 City Tokens.

There are other side stories to complete in Spider-Man 2, such as finding all the Prowler Stash locations.
