It’s well worth taking advantage of the Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth bonuses for having played Final Fantasy 7 Remake and the FF7 Rebirth demo. However, it’s difficult to know exactly what they are and when to take advantage of them in a save file.
I love it when games reward fans who have played previous entries in a series. I fondly remember the complex account system used for Dragon Age: Origins to claim rewards in Dragon Age 2, which was well worth it for the trophy alone. Square Enix has done something similar with FF7 Rebirth, offering rewards for players in their game based on what they’ve already played. This means all that time spent in FF7 Remake and the FF7 Rebirth demo is about to pay off, but you need to get everything set up first.
All FF7 Rebirth bonuses for playing the Rebirth demo and FF7 Remake
To claim these, you’ll need to have save data on your PS5 for Final Fantasy VII Remake, FF7R Episode INTERmission, and the Final Fantasy VII Rebirth Demo. If you don’t already have them loaded up, can transfer a cloud save or replay the demo and previous game prior to loading up the latest entry. Bonuses can be claimed in the menu after the Nibleheim flashback.
Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth demo bonuses
You get a Kupo Charm and the Survival Set for having played the FF7 Rebirth demo. If you completed the Nibelheim episode, then you’ll be able to skip that section after you make it to the top of the mountain, following the game’s credits. There’s no need to have finished the Junon section. This is easy to do because you’ll be given a choice to first check for FF7 Rebirth demo save file data.
Final Fantasy 7 Remake bonuses
If players have FF7 Remake save data on their console, they’ll be able to claim the Leviathan Summoning Materia. Players must have the save data on their PS5 so it can be found and the bonus applied to their new playthrough. Note this does not need to be a clear game (or Chapter Select) save; any amount of progress will do, so long as it is an existing save file.
Final Fantasy 7 Remake INTERmission bonuses
For those players who have saved data for FF7 Remake INTERmission Episode, there’s a Ramuh Summoning Materia bonus they can claim. Just as with the FF7 Remake bonus, players need that save data on their console, so FF7 Rebirth can check for it and apply the bonus to the new save file.
