The Medic is a healing-focused archetype that likes to keep their friends alive and standing. It’s a great option to pick if you’re playing co-op, but don’t forget that it can help in solo play too. Healing yourself is helpful when there are fewer allies for your enemies to target, after all.

Hunter is the long-range sharpshooter of the starter archetypes. This is the one to pick if you like landing precise, accurate shots on enemy heads.

The Challenger is the beefy, tanky archetype of the Remnant 2 group. They’re able to wade into the enemy lines and wreak havoc, all while toughing it out through hit after hit.

Want your very own pet companion? Dislike the idea of traveling the world alone? Then Handler is right choice of the starter Remnant 2 archetypes for you. You don’t get much in the way of special abilities, but what you do get is a pet companion that can do damage and pick up pals in the middle of a firefight.

If you picked up the DLC pack, then you’ll also have Gunslinger archetype unlocked. This is an interesting choice for those who like to yee, and also haw, and then fling their guns around like Revolver Ocelot. Seriously, though, it’s good if you want a particularly flashy archetype with some neat gun skills.
