Alan Wake 2 – Return 9: Come Home (Saga) walkthrough

Not just any ending will do. You need an ending that will save all the people Alan dragged into the story. It also has to fit the genre and follow from all the events prior. It’s a tough mission, but it’s the only way to cease the fictional horror leaking into reality.

Escape the Dark Place

In the Dark Place, Saga receives a phone call. She is instructed to retrieve the contents of the shoebox by the statue near Parliament Plaza.

On your way there, you’ll cross paths with Tim Breaker. Speak with him, and you’ll find out more about the Dark Place and how Tim found his way there. After your conversation with Tim, head to the construction site. There, you’ll find a door that takes you to a subway station.

Exit the station through the area containing the ticket counter, and you’ll find yourself across the street from the statue you’re looking for. Run towards it, as you’ll be surrounded by shadow enemies. Inside the shoebox is the Clicker and a Bullet of Light.

With these items, you would think it’s time to enter Parliament Tower, but it’s not. Instead, follow the sound of the phone ringing to answer the next call. On your way there, you may have to battle some of the Shadows.

The second call is a little more vague, and Saga is only told that Wake needs his help completing the story. Enter your Mind Place, and you’ll find some new characters to Profile, including Warlin Door. Profile Wake and you’ll be able to have a conversation with him about the story’s ending. It takes a while, but they finally come to a consensus regarding how the story should end.

To leave the Dark Place, Saga reasons that she’ll have to retrace her steps back to Caldera Street Plaza and return to the fountain she arrived near. Once again, water is the source of the Overlap. You can return to Caldera Street Plaza by going back through the subway, but be warned that there’ll be plenty of Shadows ready to attack so have your weapons ready. It’s a good idea to save a flair for this section.

Once you’re back at the fountain, you’ll find an overlap back out of the Dark Place. Saga will find herself in Alan’s Writer’s Room where they bring the ending to reality. There’s no more for you to do at this point. Just sit back and enjoy the eccentric ending to Remedy’s wild ride.

Differences in Come Home Final Draft

The biggest difference is the changed ending. While the original game ends on a cliffhanger, the Final Draft confirms that Logan is alive and that Alan is fine thanks to the love between him and Alice. This ending brings a little more closure to the story.

That’s the end of Alan Wake 2, at least until the 2 DLCs are released.
