Trademarks and retailers have already spoiled the surprise, but Activision has officially announced Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock today.
The game will feature an all new “Quest Mode” where players will head on a rock journey to help the Demi-God of Rock take down “The Beast” and save rock. Players will play to enlist the help of and join forces with Guitar Hero characters, transforming them into “rock warriors.” Gene Simmons of KISS fame will narrate the experience.
Warriors of Rock will feature the same “Party Play” jump-in and jump-out as Guitar Hero 5, but also adds a new experience called “Quickplay+.” This mode adds 13 unique gameplay challenges to each song on the disc, as well as “most downloadable and importable songs from Guitar Hero: World Tour forward.”
Activision is saying that this will be the most packed disc in terms of music ever, with more than 90 tracks from bands like Queen, Muse, KISS, Slayer, and more. Megadeth’s Dave Mustaine has even written a song specifically for Warriors of Rock, called “Sudden Death,” inspired by the game’s quest mode.
The first revealed songs can be found after the jump.
