As painfully silly as its name may be, Bravely Default: Flying Fairy was one of my personal 3DS highlights to come out of Tokyo Game Show. On top of looking gorgeous, it’s also experimenting with augmented reality. Speaking with Square Enix’s Tomoya Asano, Inside Games was able to learn a little more about the game.

  • No-pants girl is just one of the story’s four main characters
  • Gameplay is turn-based with random encounters; both jobs and abilities come into play
  • Apparently there is a light (the “flying fairy”) above your character
  • The sound staff are “interesting people” who have not previously worked with Square Enix

Perhaps if I keep typing out Bravely Default, the name won’t sound so alien. Worked for Bionic Commando and a number of other NES titles.
