Here’s another could-have-been scenario for your contemplation. In response to Telltale Games’ current line-up, which was recently shown to the press, Scott Pilgrim creator Bryan Lee O’Malley tweeted that the studio previously approached him about adapting the series.

“Telltale wanted to do Scott Pilgrim but I said no. I couldn’t see it as an adventure game. All respect to them, though,” reads his tweet. I’m sure many of you will respectively disagree; that’s my gut reaction.

At any rate, getting Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, the beat-’em-up, is a more-than-fair alternative to a Telltale-developed adventure version. If one game — and only one — was on the cards, you can’t be too upset at the outcome.
